About Patti Novak

Confessions Of A Matchmaker

Patti Novak has become one of America’s favorite matchmakers.  Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, Patti spent many years in a variety of jobs, working with various aspects of human nature, from weight loss to matchmaking.  Six years ago, Patti Novak decided to set up her own matchmaking business in Buffalo, and now, for the first time, that advice is available to viewers of the A&E Channel every week.  Patti has brought cameras into the secret world of matchmaking for the first time, allowing us all to peek inside the fascinating and complex business of trying to find love – sometimes in the unlikeliest of places.

This isn’t some sanitized dating show where the contestants end every episode with a romantic smooch, though.  Not for nothing is Patti known as the “Simon Cowell of matchmaking”!  Her advice is sometimes harsh, and always brutally honest – lonely singles know they need to follow her instructions or get a serious tongue lashing for their misdemeanors!  Watching her tell off a cocky guy is entertaining, but there’s always a reason for her anger – Patti’s job is to matchmake, and she’s one of the best, precisely because of her candor.

Her show, Confessions of a Matchmaker, takes us through the dating agency process from start to finish.  We see people approach Patti for help, from their application and nervous first interview, through the date to the all-important feedback.

Dating can be a minefield, and this is when Patti really comes into her own.  Watch her dissect her customers’ performance at the first date, and wince as she delivers her withering verdict on their failings – but remember that next time someone is perspiring and nervous about screwing up a dinner date, it could be you!
